Public Housing Waiting List

This is notification of the following openings for the Public Housing waiting list in Lancaster City. This is only for the Waiting list, not Immediate Housing. Applications are placed on the waiting list by date and time submitted.

One application covers all of our sites in the city, which include: Church Street Towers, Farnum Street East, Franklin Terrace, Susquehanna Court and Scattered Sites.

The lists that are open:

1 Bedroom – Couples (Husband/Wife, Boyfriend/Girlfriend,  Significant other) no Children, not for Singles. Applicants that are Elderly (62 or older), Handicapped or Disabled will be given a preference.

4 & 5 Bedrooms – Must have enough children to accommodate the bedrooms size. One bedroom for the parent/parents and two children of the same sex regardless of age in a bedroom. NO MULTIPLE FAMILIES.

To be placed on the waiting list you must fall at or below the income limits and have no bad history with this or any other Housing Authority or HUD funded Program.

Additional screening will be performed when the client reaches the top of the waiting list. These screenings include criminal, landlord and credit. No time frame can be determined since the waiting list moves when other clients move out of the units or are removed from the waiting list.
